Year-round, Gillett Pond offers a wealth of recreational opportunities.

Winter: Skating, pond hockey, skiing, snowshoeing, ice fishing, wildlife tracking

Spring, summer & fall: Kayaking, canoeing, fishing, bird-watching, salamander-searching, hiking, leaf-peeping

Safety: Please be careful of traffic along the road. In winter, make sure the ice is strong enough to support you, and keep in mind that the ice in some places will be thinner than in others. Be sure to wear life jackets whenever out on the water. There are leeches in the pond, and swimming and wading aren't recommended.

Directions: Gillett Pond is located on the border of Richmond and Huntington, on a road known in those towns as Wes White Hill Rd. and Gillett Pond Rd., respectively. The main access points are near the dam at the north end of the pond, and a pull-off area on the road at the marshy south end of the pond.

Pack in, pack out: Please help keep the area pristine by taking any trash with you.
